-
to maintain true allegiance to the Government of the United States, and fidelity to its Constitution and laws;
-
to foster true patriotism; to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom;
-
and to preserve and defend the United States from all enemies.
National VFW was incorporated May 28, 1936 by the 74th Congress.

VFW Post 5221 was chartered in Calhan, Colorado in 1921. It was established to provide a means for Veterans to help their fellow Veterans in their time of need. We are a non-profit organization that is here to better the community and veterans within the community. The Post has an Honor Guard which provides a Firing Party and a bugler for ceremonies held at numerous Colorado Cemeteries.

Our Vision: Ensure that veterans are respected for their service, always receive their earned entitlements, and are recognized for the sacrifices they and their loved ones have made on behalf of this great country. To foster camaraderie among United States veterans of overseas conflicts. To serve our veterans, the military and our communities. To advocate on behalf of all veterans.

All profits go directly to veterans and their families within our community.

We have many programs and services that work to support veterans, service members and their families, as well as community outreach in Colorado. Please check out our about us and our services pages on our site to learn why we feel our cause is so important.
